Dr. Nicole Culwell is available full time to see patients who need cardiac evaluations. Dr. Culwell is residency trained and board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) in veterinary cardiology.
Examples of cases that a veterinary cardiologist is available to see:
- Congenital (present at birth) heart murmurs and heart enlargement
- Acquired heart disease and adult onset heart murmurs
- Breed certifications
- Arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythm)
- Differentiating cardiac versus pulmonary disease as a cause of respiratory abnormalities
- Pacemaker recheck examinations and reprogramming

| ECG Consultations |
Dr. Culwell is available to review electrocardiograms (ECG) from veterinarians. If possible, tracings sent by email (scanned reports are accepted) are preferable for interpretation, rather than those sent by facsimile.

Mobile Cardiology Consultations |
Dr. Culwell will be available 2 days of the week to referring veterinarians for on-site patient evaluation and to perform echocardiograms, electrocardiograms (ECG), and blood pressure measurements. Tuesdays will be dedicated to Dallas and surrounding area, and Fridays will be for Tarrant County. Communication with clients will be the responsibility of the referring veterinarian. VMS will bill the referring veterinarian for services rendered on-site.
Please contact our office for more information and to schedule a consultation. Dogs greater than 90 lb (40 kg) will be too large for mobile echocardiogram evaluation; please refer this patients directly to our Grapevine office.
